ACHE of South Florida (ACHE-SFL) has an annual Student Case Competition.
In 2002, the SFHEF annual case competition was founded to provide a forum for student involvement with the local ACHE chapter. The competition features students from various local colleges and universities' undergraduate and graduate healthcare administration programs. These respective institutions are members of the ACHE Higher Education Network.
The competition is based on a case study topic that reflects the latest issues or challenges in our healthcare industry and under the guidance of healthcare professionals have been hailed as best practice by both American College of Health Executives (ACHE) and the Association of University Public Health Administration (AUPHA). Throughout the course of the competition, the student teams are provided with a mentor and liaison from local healthcare organizations who serve as a resource throughout a span of three months. On the case competition day, the student teams present their work to a panel of judges consisted of C-Suite healthcare leaders.
The competition awards First, Second and Third Place each for Graduate and Undergraduate presentations. There is a monetary prize given to the universities for disbursement, as the institutions deem appropriate. All student participants are presented with the opportunity to attend a career development educational event in which the winners are announced.
All South Florida universities and colleges with a healthcare management or healthcare administration undergraduate or graduate program are invited to participate in our Annual Healthcare Leadership Development Case Competition.
