Ashley Vertuno, FACHE

Ashley Vertuno

Ashely Vertuno is the Chief Operating Officer at Westside Regional Medical Center, East Florida Division with HCA since October 2017. She is responsible for overseeing the operations of the facility including a $85M,72 private bed tower construction project. She formally was at Desert Regional Medical Center, a for-profit Tenet facility in Palm Springs, CA as Associate Administrator. Her primary responsibilities included oversight of the orthopedic and neuroscience service lines, robotics service line, surgical clinical excellence, investor owned surgical panel (21 surgeons), facilities management, facility physician contract negotiations, capital construction oversight- approx. $52M in 2 years, food and nutrition and environmental services.

Prior to her advancement to Associate Administrator, Ashley served as Service Line Administrator for Orthopedics and Neurosciences at Desert Regional, where she oversaw business development, strategic planning and operations, leading the facility in 4 out of the 8 years of top 100 hospitals for orthopedics and total joints and first Comprehensive Stroke Center by DNV in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. Preceding the move to Palm Springs, CA, Ashley served in a practice administrator role with HCA, MidAmerica Division, in Kansas City, MO.

Ashley’s commitment to improving the healthcare industry and her community across the county is evident in her leadership involvement with numerous charitable organizations. In 2014, Vertuno became a recipient of “Top 40 under 40” for business professionals in Palm Springs, CA. In 2015, she was invited to join Leadership Coachella Valley, a unique program developed to mentor a small select group of future community leaders. Members explored issues affecting the Coachella Valley and were encouraged to develop their professional leadership skills, while building relationships that forge positive community change in ways that improve the lives of people across the region.

In addition, Vertuno was an active participant on the board of the Palm Springs United School District, where she strived to elevate awareness surrounding the issues related to concussion management and sports medicine initiatives in addition to assisting in the development of student mentor programs.

She had been the Chair for the American Heart Association “Heart Walk” as well as, Chair for the March of Dimes here in Palm Springs, CA, two years running. She is an active member for American College of Healthcare Executives, with Fellow status achievement and has facilitated women leadership forums through ACHE and SHFEF.

Her involvement in numerous professional and civic organizations at the local, regional, and national levels continues to expand her dedication and commitment to the healthcare profession. SHFEF is extremely important to Ashley, as it is her time to give back to the community and educate the up and coming leaders who will transform the next generation of healthcare. The support of ACHE and SHFEF has provided tools to build Ashley’s leadership teams to be successful and continue to promote the mission of each facility, specifically at Westside Regional Medical Center/HCA “Above all else, we are committed to the care and improvement of human life.”

Vertuno holds a Master’s degree in Health Administration from the University of South Carolina; and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Management from Virginia Commonwealth University. In addition, she is has a “green belt” in Six Sigma “green belt” and is a past fellow for the American Hospital Association’s Transformational Leadership Program.
