Winter 2021

Have you stopped to think of the shows in your childhood that you loved in which you thought, wow, that would be awesome to be in that world one day? The show that comes to my mind is the cartoon, “The Jetsons”. I know I thought when I was a kid that by the early 2000’s we would all be flying cars and robots greeting us as entryways and have big projector screens where people talk through to the public or mini screens to talk to other people virtually. Fast forward to 2020 and now into 2021 we are actually living part of “The Jetsons” depictions. Think about it. We have cars that drive themselves. We are now more invested in telehealth and talking to medical professionals through a virtual visit and utilizing facetime features to bring relationships closer together. The creator of this show probably had no idea what would hit us in 2020, in which it would rapidly advance the informational technology platform to what it is today and now part of our new normal reality 30+ years later.

As we continue to embrace our new reality, it is exciting to share how the college has transformed Congress for 2021; what used to be an in-person event has now turned fully virtual. This year you can participate from your own home. Like many of you, I continue to miss the in-person interactions and networking that come from being at Congress every year. We will one day get back to that; however, for this year, we still have the opportunity to build relationships, learn from phenomenal leaders in our industry with the luxury of not leaving our home and/or office. Congress this year is scheduled for March 22-25. I hope you will be able to take full advantage of all the courses and hear from our amazing group of speakers that the College has planned for all of us.

These two recipients received their award at the Annual ACHE of South Florida Installation Board meeting virtually. Please congratulate them on their awards for the 2020 calendar year

Let us embrace being “The Jetsons” and take full advantage of registering for our virtual Congress session coming up in March. We have evolved at a rapid pace this year, and I want to thank all of you for continuing your lifelong journey with the College. See you virtually at Congress!
